Design Process
Through collaborative meetings with faculty and the school's leadership, we identified the need for exploration areas, an outdoor playground, learning gardens, and distinct sections for scientific observation. Our design concept incorporated curving roadways lined with native plant life to mimic pathways of discovery. Plant selections were based on their ability to demonstrate biological concepts while providing shade and visual interest.
Installation & Construction
Site preparation focused on protecting existing mature trees suitable for outdoor lessons. We installed paved walking paths that bend organically to encourage a spirit of exploration. Raised garden beds allow students to get hands-on with planting and growth cycles.
